Frequently asked questions

Can I sync my workflows between devices?

Yes, we offer a free Workflow Sync service. To set up sync, tap “Sign In to Enable Sync” at the bottom of the My Workflows section in the app. Learn more in Syncing your workflows.

Does Workflow support my favorite app or service?

We don’t have a list of supported apps and services available on the web, but the full list can be found inside of the app. Use the search bar at the top of the actions list to look for an app or service. If you can’t find it there, try using either the “Open App” or “Open In...” actions and look for the app in the Choose menu.

If you can’t find the app you’re looking for, send us an email with your request.

How do I build a workflow that does X?

The Workflow Gallery is a great place to discover workflows with a wide variety of capabilities. Try searching through the Gallery tab in the app to see what’s possible and how particular workflows are made.

Can Workflow change my system settings?

The only system settings that Workflow can modify are your screen brightness and volume.

Workflow can not change settings related to Location Services, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Personal Hotspot, Do Not Disturb, Airplane Mode, VPN, etc. because iOS does not offer any APIs for this functionality.

Can I run a workflow at a certain time or at a certain place?

With Launch Center Pro, you can configure time and location triggers that remind you to run workflows. You can add your workflows into Launch Center Pro and configure triggers from there. Learn more in Adding a workflow to Launch Center Pro.

Can I send text messages or emails without hitting the “Send” button?

Due to security restrictions in iOS, you need to tap the “Send” button in order to send a text message or email.
